Anemia Treatment

Anemia is a condition is which a person suffers from low levels of red blood cells, that carry oxygen to all cells in the tissues and systems in the body; oxygen that is essential for these cells' every function. According to the World Health Organization, around 25% or world’s population is affected by anemia (more than 1.5 billion people), when the highest prevalence is in pre-schoolers (close to 50%).
The second most prevalent type of anemia, after iron deficiency, is anemia of chronic disease (also called anemia of inflammation). This type of anemia is cause by various chronic diseases such as infections, autoimmune diseases, cancer , and chronic kidney disease (CKD). The anemia that results from the primary disease, may inhibit the body’s ability to combat the disease and to heal.
The singlet oxygen-enriched air produced by the ZMedicAir device induces the body’s natural ability to combat the disease’s inhibition on production of red blood cells, thus alleviating the anemia that person experiences.

Anemia
Symptoms

Anemia symptoms depend of the severity of the condition, meaning on how low the level of red blood cells (RBC) or the hemoglobin levels get. Mild anemia might go unnoticed, but the worse the anemia gets , so do the symptoms get and the condition might even become life threatening, if left untreated. Also, the type of the anemia effects the symptoms and their severity.
Possible symptoms:

  • Fatigue

  • Shortness of breath

  • Dizziness

  • Weakness

  • Paleness

  • Arrhythmia (Irregular heartbeats)

  • Cold extremities

  • Headaches

Pathophysiology of Anemia

Anemia is a condition is which red blood cells count is relatively low. It also might be that the hemoglobin content in the cells is relatively low. As a result, the oxygen delivery to the body is impaired, inhibiting the ability of the cells to produce energy for their normal function.
Three reason might lead to this condition:

  • Inhibited production of red blood cells

  • Bleeding that causes red blood cells loss at higher rate than they can be produced.

  • Increased destruction of red blood cells.

Anemia that is caused by iron deficiency, that is the most common type of anemia, can be treated by food supplements or by changing the diet. The second most common anemia is chronic disease anemia, in which a disease or condition induces the development of anemia.

This type of anemia, that is also called Anemia of Chronic Inflammation, results from conditions involving inflammation, like chronic infection, autoimmune diseases (lupus), kidney disease, cancer and so on.

These diseases, that involve an increased activity of the immune system, may result in faster destruction of red blood cells as a side effect. On the hand, the iron metabolism might change making the iron less available from hemoglobin production. Another possibility is a decrease in the production of erythropoietin (EPO), a hormone secreted by the kidney involved in the modulation of red blood cells levels, or a decrease in the bone marrow’s responsiveness to the hormone.

ZMedicAir Device Anemia Treatment

  • The singlet oxygen-enriched air produced by the ZMedicAir device induces the body’s natural defense and healing mechanisms. As such, not only is the body’s ability to combat the underlying condition that led to the anemia in the first place is improved, but also the body’s ability to produce red blood cells and combat the factors that led to the anemic state.

  • As a result, anemic patients treated with the ZMedicAir device show a significant rise in their red blood cells count and hemoglobin levels, within the following blood test.

  • Also, many patients suffering from cancer and other diseases, that have low red blood cells count, once they start treatment with the ZMedicAir device, report on immediately feeling more energized and a significant improvement in their physical, as well as, in their mental condition, as many patients also suffer from depression because of their illness.
